01 / THE DIFFERENCE

Knowledge earned.
Relationships built.

We don't simply make introductions.

CIM brings an insider's understanding of the creative, commercial and cultural realities surrounding every relationship. We have spent our careers inside entertainment and business—working with artists, executives, brands, agencies, promoters and partners at the highest levels.

That perspective lets us see beyond the introduction: where interests align, where obstacles may exist, who needs to be in the room and what can turn a conversation into a meaningful opportunity.

CIM's perspective comes from having lived the business from multiple sides—artist, creative, executive, entrepreneur, producer, brand and international partner. We understand how creative ambition meets commercial reality, how decisions get made and why trust matters.

This isn't a network assembled for a company launch. It is a network built through careers.

A Lifetime In Motion.

Two careers. Decades of experience. Relationships built one project, one artist and one conversation at a time.

Troy Burgess
CO-FOUNDER / PRINCIPAL

Troy Burgess

Troy Burgess brings decades of experience across entertainment, international business, corporate branding and creative leadership. His career spans performance, creative direction, executive leadership and branded entertainment, working with artists including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Cher, Elton John, Cyndi Lauper and Paula Abdul, and with global brands including Toyota, Sony, Panasonic, Nike, Intel, NEC and NTT DoCoMo.

His background includes extensive work with leading advertising agencies and international brand partners, conceiving, directing and producing branded entertainment and experiential productions across multiple countries around the world. That experience has given him a rare understanding of both sides of the relationship: the artists and creative communities that shape culture, and the brands and businesses seeking meaningful ways to engage with them.

In Tokyo, Troy co-founded a high-end web development and corporate branding company, serving first as Vice President and later CEO, and growing the operation to approximately 30 employees. The company received one of only five Japanese government grants awarded to enhance the country's emerging internet environment and established Japan's first Flash development studio. Among its flagship relationships was Sony Music, for which the company developed, designed and maintained its web presence for five years. The experience added executive, digital and brand leadership to a career already grounded in entertainment, while building firsthand knowledge of Japanese and Asian business culture.

At CIM, Troy brings these worlds together through artist relations, strategic partnerships, creative representation and corporate branding—supported by decades of industry knowledge and a global network of trusted relationships. His focus is on understanding the opportunity, recognizing the right alignment and connecting the right people around the right opportunity.

Paul Kirkland
CO-FOUNDER / PRINCIPAL

Paul Kirkland

Paul Kirkland brings decades of experience at the highest levels of music, touring, television, film and live entertainment. Beginning his career as an elite commercial dancer, he built longstanding relationships inside the artist ecosystem before expanding into choreography and creative direction. His career includes work with Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Ricky Martin, Paula Abdul, Chris Brown and Nelly Furtado, among others.

His experience spans major world tours—including Madonna's Re-Invention and Sticky & Sweet eras—as well as film and television projects including Burlesque, La La Land and Dancing With The Stars. His choreography and creative-direction work includes Ricky Martin, Rachel Platten, the Latin Grammys and other major live productions, with additional choreography experience connected to Michael Jackson's IMMORTAL / Cirque du Soleil production.

Years spent working within the creative inner circle of major artists have given Paul something that extends well beyond credits: trusted relationships and a firsthand understanding of how artists, management, creative teams and entertainment partners work together. That perspective provides an ability to recognize not only an opportunity, but the people, approach and relationships necessary to move it forward. Paul is also Co-Founder of 8&1 Creative, extending his work in creative direction and entertainment.

At CIM, Paul brings deep artist relationships, creative insight and an experienced understanding of how to recognize and develop opportunities that work creatively, commercially and internationally.

06 / A LIFETIME IN MOTION

The careers behind
the connections.

Experience leaves a trail.

The long hours. The longer flights. The tour buses, hotels, rehearsals, training, classes and years spent mastering our craft. The blood and sweat (no tears), and all the hard work. Relationships forged onstage, backstage, in the studios and in the trenches. Always moving. Always learning. Constantly reinventing.

This is what we're made of.This is why we're here. This is what we bring.
